Beat Street Restaurant Hosts Fundraiser, Tech Meet Up at Pet Shop

Monday: Hudson Pride is hosting a vigil in memory of those who were killed in Florida’s Pulse Club shooting a year ago. Honor Them with Action will be held at 32 Jones Street (Hudson Pride Connections Center).

Tuesday: Talde is throwing another Kamayan night — an all-you-can-eat food (and drink) fest. This month’s theme wil be a seafood boil with shrimp, blue crab, corn, cassava cake, and more. Food is served family style (utensils are optional). Tickets are $55 per person.

Tuesday: The Hutton will screen Spielberg classic Jaws tonight at 8:45pm. Cocktail and beer specials will be available.

Tuesday: Megaformer gym 8 Springs Studio is throwing another Holistic Happy Hour. Workout classes are $20 all day and after your sweat session, recharge with a complimentary Bailey’s Almande-infused smoothie.

Tuesday: Beat the heat with a delicious, organic gelato from Bucket & Bay. They’ll be at Base NJ for a Food Truck Fest from 6pm to 9pm.

Wednesday: Get a sneak peek of Jersey City’s newest restaurant, Beat Street. Located at 150 Bay, the restaurant will open its doors for a stand up cocktail party with live music and passed hors d’oeuvres. Admission is $20 and 100% of proceeds will benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of Essex, Hudson, and Union Counties.

Wednesday: LITM is hosting a fundraiser for New Jersey-based cat rescue, Companion Animal Trust. Cocktails for Cats is the organization’s first fundraiser and LITM will have raffle items, artwork, jewelry, t-shirts, and more on sale. (Proceeds will benefit CAT). The event will run from 7pm to 10pm.

Thursday: Shops & Scoops is a weekly event that combines three of our favorite things — puppies, shopping, and ice cream. The event is held every Thursday at Charles & Co. (201 Montgomery) from 5pm to 8pm. It’s your chance to shop local retailers, indulge on Milk Sugar Love ice cream, and meet See Spot Rescued’s pups in need of a home.

Thursday: Jersey City Tech MeetUp is holding its next High Tech Happy Hour at Pet Shop. The happy hour is an opportunity to meet and mingle with local tech enthusiasts and professional. The event runs from 6pm to 8:30pm.

Thursday: The fundraisers continue during the York Street Project’s 7th annual Evening Under the Stars block party held at 89 York Street. The night includes food and drinks from Hamilton Pork, Talde, Miss Wong’s, Eemas Cuisine, and more. Tickets are $75/pp and proceeds will benefit the families and children of the York Street Project.

Friday: Departed Soles is celebrating its 2nd (Distribution) Anniversary Party with a host of new beer releases, including two gluten-free options, Fourth of Jul-IPA, and two special barrel-aged (one whiskey-based) Philoso-Rapper editions. A portion of sales of DS’ Fourth of Jul-IPA will benefit local veterans.
