From the start of Spa Week to the long-awaited debut of Frankie — here’s a rundown of the best events happening in and around Jersey City this week.

Get Pampered on the Cheap (Monday)
Today is the start of Spa Week and various spas in and around Jersey City will offer $50 spa treatments all week. A few participating spas include Serenity Day Spa, Basebody Spa, and Massage Envy. Spa Week runs through Sunday (in New York and New Jersey).

Grab Some Australian Eats and Organic Wines at Frankie (Thursday)
Downtown’s newest restaurant — Frankie — opens at 5pm tonight and we highly recommend adding it to your “must try” list. The wines are small batch/organic, the Aussie-influenced food is delicious, and the decor is 100% tropical paradise.

Block Party in the Powerhouse Arts District (Thursday)
The weekend is almost here, which means it’s time to let loose. The Shuster Group’s 2nd Annual City Lights Block Party is held on First Street (just off Marin) and includes food from Hamilton Pork, Hudson Hall, Würstbar, and treats from Bucket & Bay. There will also be live music, cocktails, and life-size Pong, Jenga, and Connect 4.

Zombies Invade LSC (Thursday)
Party among the walking dead — while throwing back a few beers — at the LSC After Dark: Zomtoberfest. The Halloween-themed party is a collaboration between LSC, Midnight Market, the JC Oddities Market, and several local breweries, which will be showcasing their craft beers. Tickets are $20 online or $25 at the door.

Get a Jump Start on the Weekend at Red Lounge (Thursday)
New York DJs Sleepy & Boo are taking over Red at Raval for a night of house and underground tunes. The DJ lineup includes Tommy Conboy, Ryan Provost, and Carlos Carrera.

Theatre in the Heights’ Second Staged Reading (Friday)
Add a touch of Broadway to your weekend with Theatre in the Heights’ second staged play reading tonight at The Statuary (53 Congress). The play — A Lovely Damaged Quality — by playwright Mackenzie McBride is about a young woman who “retreats into the dark and chaotic depths of her imagination as she tries to make sense of her father’s suicide.”

Hudson Hall Opening Party (Friday)
Still haven’t tried Hudson Hall’s epic pastrami sandwich? Today’s your lucky day. Hudson Hall is celebrating its ribbon cutting ceremony with live music, $5 house beer, and a $10 pastrami sandwich special (it normally costs $16). Doors open at 4pm.
