Monday: Last day to register for Ani Ramen’s noodle contest
Hold on to your chopsticks. Today is the last day to register for Ani Ramen and Sun Noodle’s Ramen Eating Competition. The noodle showdown will be held Monday, October 9 and proceeds will benefit No Kid Hungry. Did we mention first prize is a 10-person chef’s dinner at Ani?
Monday: Free dog adoptions at LHS
We’re still a few days away from Liberty Humane Society’s Bark in the Park Pet Festival, but to celebrate the occasion, LHS is waiving adoption fees for all dogs 40 pounds and over. The promo will run through October 14.
Tuesday: Oktoberfest tech meetup with Lyft at the Lutze
The Lutze Biergarten is hosting tonight’s Jersey City Tech MeetUp where you’ll get creative, expert advice on how to “lyft” your business from Lyft general manager, Ann Ferracane. The event is a chance to mingle with Jersey City’s tech community, get advice from Ann Ferracane, and score some drink specials from the Lutze.
Wednesday: The season’s last outdoor movie screening at Baozi Brew
Head to Baozi Brew for the restaurant’s last outdoor movie night. Plus, you’ll get to pick and paint your own pumpkin before the movie.
Thursday: New dinner and cocktail specials to celebrate Mathews’ 1-year anniversary
Time flies when you’re eating well. Today is Mathews’ 1-year anniversary and to celebrate, the Grove street restaurant is offering new dinner specials, cocktails, and oyster shooters. Mathews is also now offering Sunday brunch complete with a new brunch menu and cocktails.
Thursday: Beer release Thursday at Departed Soles
It’s beer release Thursday at Departed Soles, where you’ll get to try two new beers . The first is Deeper Shade of Sole — a 6.66% ABV Dark, Rye saison with nugget and citra hops. The second beer is a mystery double dry hopped, double IPA. Plus, there will be a mystery celebrity appearance.
Thursday: Beer Tasting Dinner at Liberty Prime Steakhouse
Hawaii’s Kona Brewing Company is teaming up with Liberty Prime Steakhouse for a Kona Beer Tasting Dinner. The all-inclusive dinner will include four courses paired with four Kona beers. Cost is $45/pp. You can check out the menu here (PDF).
Thursday: Golden Door Film Festival Begins
The Golden Door Film Festival is a 4-day festival celebrating independent filmmakers in the New York and New Jersey area. Screenings and after-parties will be held throughout the city starting with an opening gala at the Landmark Loews. Screenings include Reach for the Sky, The Girl Who Invented Kissing, Shit List, and more. You can check out the schedule here.
