Best Things to Do in Jersey City Week of 7/17

Monday: There’s a new taquería in town and rumor has it they’re Gringo’s. Located at 12 Coles street, Gringo’s is of course a new Mexican restaurant and cantina with outdoor seating, a host of delicious taco options, and Mexican-inspired cocktails. The new taquería officially opens today.

Tuesday: Jersey Wine & Spirits and Van Hook Cheese are teaming up for a night of Belgium Beer & Cheese. You’ll taste five beers from New Belgium Brewing alongside five cheeses hand-picked by Jersey City’s Van Hook Cheese. The evening starts at 7pm and admission is $40.

Tuesday: Nothing compliments a relaxing vinyasa session like a little wine and cheese. That’s precisely what you’ll get at Three Little Birds’ Vinyasa & Vino class, hosted by local wine expert Lourdes Arena. The evening starts with a workout and ends with some wine. Admission is $45/pp and the event runs from 7pm to 9pm at 16 Erie street.

Wednesday: Head to Newport’s pristine, urban beach for the annual Newport Beach Party & Concert. The party starts at 6pm and includes an evening of live music, local food, and children’s activities.

Wednesday: Last week’s foul weather means you have another chance to catch Rogue One: A Star Wars Story outdoors on the big screen. Grab a friend, bring your own lawn chair, and enjoy the movie and some popcorn on the house. The movie starts at 8:30pm.

Thursday: Music fans eager to catch deep house, techno, or tech-house here in Jersey City can finally do so thanks to Red at Raval’s Thursday lineup of underground vibes featuring New York DJs Sleepy & Boo. Admission is free and the party starts at 9pm.

Thursday: This month’s LSC After Dark will be a collaboration with the foodie masterminds of Midnight Market. Expext an evening of local eats, strong cocktails, and a Best of Pink Floyd laser show. The party starts at 6pm and online tickets are $20/pp.

Friday: Pret A Manger’s first Jersey City location is ready for its debut this Friday. To celebrate, on Thursday Pret will give away free breakfast to the first 400 guests starting at 8am and free lunch to the first 500 guests starting at 12pm.
