Jersey Avenue isn’t the only area of downtown undergoing a revival. A new restaurant with tiki-style drinks is slated to open at 335 Newark Avenue, in the basement of the White Eagle Hall performance venue.

Cellar 335 describes its menu as progressive American cuisine with Asian accents and tiki-style cocktails. Cocktails will be crafted by Joshua Fossitt and Guillermo Bravo, who have collectively worked at Tribeca’s Weather Up, The Nomad, and Brooklyn’s Featherweight.

Decor-wise, the restaurant will feature murals by local artist Mr. Mustart.

Although there’s no official opening date, the Jersey City Theater Center — which is moving into the restored White Eagle Hall — says an opening is expected “soon.” In the meantime, you can follow Cellar 335 on Instagram for some sneak peeks of what’s to come. —Cellar 335
