**Choc-O-Pain’s newest cafe is now slated to open in March. Located at 330-332 Palisade Avenue, the fourth Choc-O-Pain was expected to debut in January, but we now hear they will open in less than two months. The new space will double as a baking/production kitchen and cafe. Choc-O-Pain recently celebrated its 5-year anniversary.
**Speaking of big debuts — Montclair’s Ani Ramen is scheduled to open at 218 Newark Avenue next month. Although there is no precise date yet, the space has undergone a lot of work in the past few days. (The image above is the new mural designed by Rich Tu). Meanwhile, the Montclair location announced it is now open 7 days a week (including Mondays) and will also take part in this weekend’s Montclair Food & Wine Festival.
**What started as a New York City hotdog cart on the corner of 6th Avenue and W53rd Street has led to a massive franchise known as The Halal Guys. Now The Halal Guys are opening their first restaurant in Newark at 72 Halsey Street (just a few blocks away from the PATH/Penn Station). The grand opening is slated for Friday, January 27 at 11am. —The Halal Guys Nwk
