Chubby’s Food Truck Bringing Epic, Italian Sandwiches to Jersey City in August

A new food truck specializing in Italian, butcher-style sandwiches is coming to Jersey City next month.

Chubby’s Sandwiches is a new food truck concept from chef Nick Daniele — owner of Sicilian restaurant Bella Gioia in Brooklyn — and his life-long friend, Joseph Buonsante.

The two have created an epic menu of sandwiches ($10 – $15) with names like The Peasant (herb-crusted potatoes, scrambled eggs, imported mozzarella); The Chris Christie (chicken tenders, provolone, sharp cheddar, mozzarella sticks, chopped lettuce, fried egg, chipotle mayo); and The Gordo (pork belly, San Daniele proscuitto, turkey, Havarti cheese, gouda cheese, muenster cheese).

There will also be a few meatless options like The Skinny, made with roasted eggplant, tomatoes, zucchini, mozzarella di bufala, and a balsamic glaze.

In the morning, Chubby’s will serve up hot breakfast sandwiches ($3.99 – $4.99).

An assortment of smaller munchies ($5 – $8) like Nutella Rolls, Fried Calzones, Zeppoles, and Lasagna Cones will also be available as well as a kiddie menu.

Chubby’s will launch in Exchange Place and local delivery will also be available. The truck will be serving up sandwiches Monday through Saturday. You can follow them via their Instagram.
