City officials have released a survey asking Jersey City residents forĀ  feedback on the redesign of Journal Square Plaza. The vote is on whether to keep the existing memorial and fountain at Journal Square Plaza or select a new design (pictured above) with a water wall and reflecting pool. (Think of it as a much smaller version of the 9/11 Memorial at the WTC site).

At the start of the year, Kushner Companies and KABR Group acquired the two-acre property known as One Journal Square, which has been approved for a 54-story tower with 538 units, a 70-story tower with 700 units, and a 60-story tower with 600 units. The Journal Square Plaza is adjacent to the development site and the site’s owners want to improve the plaza with the vote of the community.

You can look at the current state of the fountain and the proposed redesign by clicking here. The survey is open through July 1st.
