Mayor Steve Fulop beat sole challenger Bill Matsikoudis in a landslide victory Tuesday night. According to preliminary results, Fulop nabbed 78 percent of the vote to Matsikoudis’ 22 percent. —NJ.com

Phil Murphy succeeds Chris Christie as governor of New Jersey
Former Wall Street banker Philip D. Murphy defeated Lt. Gov. Kim Guadagno in the race to replace Gov. Chris Christie. Guadagno was Christi’s second in command, but lost to Murphy by a margin of 56 to 43 percent, according to the New York Times. —NYT

City council winners and runoffs
In the race for city council, Rolando Lavarro, Daniel Rivera, Joyce Watterman, Michael Yun, and Jermaine Robinson were re-elected, whereas candidates in Wards A, B, C, and E will face run-off elections in December. In Ward E (downtown), Rebecca Symes will square off against James Solomon. —NJ.com

Jersey City Urby nears full occupancy
Harborside’s 713-foot tall Jenga tower is near full occupancy. Just eight months after the launch of leasing at Jersey City Urby — the tallest residential building in New Jersey — developers have announced that the iconic waterfront tower is 95 percent leased. Digital Big Ben coming to Journal Square
Journal Square commuters and residents may get a digital version of London’s Big Ben. Developers have received the green light to install a giant, digital clock at the second Journal Squared tower. Although the tower will rise 72-stories, the clock will be situated at ground level. Journal Squared 2 is expected to wrap up in 2020. —NJ.com
