Hamilton Park House Tour 2016

Just because you can’t afford a house in Jersey City’s Hamilton Park neighborhood doesn’t mean you can’t look. The Hamilton Park Neighborhood Association (HPNA) is holding its first House Tour on Sunday, October 16. The self-guided, walking tour will spotlight some of Hamilton Park’s finest interiors, retail stores, and dining destinations.

“There’s been quite the spotlight, both from a local and national level, on Jersey City’s growth and development,” said Jaclyn Isaac, HPNA board member and chair person for the tour. “While high rises are getting most of the attention, we wanted to highlight the aesthetic and architectural gems that one can find in some of our ‘hidden gem’ neighborhoods, particularly our neighborhood of Hamilton Park.”

Tickets for the tour cost $30 and 100% of sales will benefit downtown’s St. Lucy’s Shelter, which has been serving New Jersey’s homeless, abused/neglected children, and the elderly since 1986.

Houses will open at 10am and close at 4pm. You can visit the homes in any order, but you must first check in and pick up a map at the Hamilton Park gazebo. (Same-day tickets will also available for purchase from the HP gazebo for $35).

“While we all can appreciate a beautiful home, we acknowledge that most of us are lucky enough to have shelter, let alone live in a wonderful neighborhood. We’re hoping to raise funds for those amongst us who are not as fortunate,” said Isaac.
