What: Hamilton Park Halloween Parade
When: Friday, October 30th from 4pm till 7pm
Where: Hamilton Park
The Hamilton Park Halloween Parade will be one of the first parades to kick off in downtown Jersey City. There will be a dance performance by Next Step Broadway and Little Club Heads followed by a child- and pet-friendly costume parade at 6pm.

What: Mischief Night Wine Tasting
When: Friday, October 30th from 6pm till 8pm
Where: Madame Claude Wine (234 Pavonia Avenue)
Start your Halloween with some vin rouge courtesy of Madame Claude Wine and Maximilien Wine Company. Maximilien Wine Company will have a tasting at Madame Claude Wine from 6pm till 8pm. The perfect way to begin your Halloween weekend.

What: Journal Scare: A Halloween Bash
When: Friday, October 30th from 6pm till 11.30pm
Where: 136 Magnolia Avenue
Food, costumes, and live music are just a few things you’ll see at the Journal Scare Halloween Bash. The party and fundraiser will also support Jersey City Ties, a group that focuses on community engagement through volunteering and networking events (anyone who lives or works in Jersey City can become a member). The party kicks off at the Art House Productions (right around the corner from the Journal Square Path station). Tickets cost $10 per person at the door or $8 if you pre-order online.

What: 3rd Annual Día de Los Muertos Weekend
When: Friday, October 30th from 9.30pm till close (costume party)
Where: Órale Mexican Kitchen (341 Grove Street)
Órale is having a weekend-long Día de Los Muertos celebration starting Friday night with a costume party and live DJ. (The crowd will vote for the best costume and the winner will receive a $100 Órale gift card). There will also be live music Saturday night and Sunday at brunch.

What: Halloween Parade in Paulus Hook Park
When: Saturday, October 31st from 12.30pm till 3.30pm
Where: Paulus Hook Park
Paulus Hook Park’s Halloween Parade includes something for everyone. Registration for the children’s costume parade starts onsite at 12.30pm. (A winner will be announced at 1.45pm). Then your 4-legged family member can participate in the Halloween Pet Parade (onsite registration starts at 2pm). A winner will be announced at 3.15pm. Tickets cost $10 and will benefit the Paulus Hook Park Renovation Fund, Liberty Humane Society, and See Spot Rescued.

What: Scary Halloween Stories
When: Saturday, October 31st from 3pm till 6pm
Where: Word Bookstore (123 Newark Avenue)
No Halloween is complete without a scary story. You’ll get that and much more at Word’s Scary Halloween Stories reading, which will include some bone-chilling tales from author Hal Johnson’s book, “Fearsome Creatures of the Lumberwoods.” There will also be classic stories read from “Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark.” All ages are welcome.

What: Tales from the Crypts
When: Saturday, October 31st from 4.30pm till 10pm
Where: Historic Jersey City and Harsimus Cemetery (435 Newark Avenue)
Celebrate Halloween in a cemetery. The Harsimus Cemetery is hosting a family-friendly Halloween bash with tours of the cemetery, kids’ activities, pumpkin painting, food, refreshments, and more. A $10 admission fee benefits the Harsimus Cemetery, which is run 100% by volunteers.

What: 1st Annual Halloween Market & Music Extravaganza
When: Saturday, October 31st from 6pm till 10pm
Where: Grove Street Plaza & Newark Avenue Pedestrian Plaza
Forget about the New York Halloween Parade. The Historic Downtown Special Improvement District (HDSID) is throwing its first ever Halloween Party right on Grove Street. Jersey City’s own Rock-It Docket has booked live music for the entire night and over 30 vendors are expected to participate with food and drinks including Skinner’s Loft, Raval, and Helen’s Pizza.

What: Barrow Mansion Halloween Party
When: Saturday, October 31st from 7.30pm till 11pm
Where: Barrow Mansion (83 Wayne Street)
The Barrow Mansion is throwing a monster mash and you’re invited. This adults-only party will include drinks, food, dancing, and of course, costumes. Tickets are $25 per person.

What: Barcade Halloween Party
When: Saturday, October 31st from 8pm
Where: Barcade (163 Newark Avenue)
Compete for the best video-game themed Halloween costume at Barcade’s Halloween Party. The night will include a special Halloween draft list, cocktail specials, Halloween music, and prizes for best costume.
