From costume parties to a Marilyn Manson rock show, we’ve created a guide to the best Halloween events taking place this weekend and on Halloween day.

Take a Spin Through Exchange Place’s Hay Maze
The Urby Parking Lot at Exchange Place has been transformed into a Hay Maze and Pumpkin Patch. Admission to the neighborhood party is free, but some parts — such as the Hay Maze — may require a ticket. Expect plenty of food, activities for kids, and music. (October 28-29; at 11am)

Time Warp Back to the Roaring 20s

Looking for a party sans zombies and vampires? For its Halloween bash Hudson Hall is going back — way back — to the Roaring 20s. There will be cash prizes for the best costume, a burlesque show at midnight, and plenty of suds and eats to last all through the night. (Saturday, October 28)

Costume Party at Journal Square
Journal Scare 2: The Resurrection is a Halloween party and fundraiser rolled into one. Held at PJ Ryan’s Squared, the party will features cover bands playing Weezer and Elvis Costello sets. Admission is $10 per person and proceeds will benefit Jersey City Ties, an organization looking to build community and connect people in and around JC through volunteering, social, and networking events. (Saturday, October 28 at 7:30pm)

Halloween Taco Party at Gringo’s
Gringo’s is celebrating Halloweekend with an all-night costume and taco party. The party starts at 9pm and includes drink specials, a costume contest, and a live DJ. (Saturday, October 28 at 9pm)

A Halloween Rave in Liberty State Park
Part dance party, part costume party — Terminal of Terror 2 is a Halloween rave that takes place at the Central Railroad Terminal. The 2-night event also includes a family friendly party from 11am to 4pm on Saturday. (October 27-October 28)

Win a $500 Prize at Zeppelin Hall’s Halloween Bash

If you take your Halloween costumes seriously, you’ll want to head to Zeppelin Hall’s Halloween Bash. In addition to a live DJ set that starts at 9:30pm, the best Halloween costume of the night will get a hefty $500 reward. (Saturday, October 28 at 9pm)

Tuesday, October 31 – Halloween Day

Halloween Arrives at the Pedestrian Plaza
Trick or Treat your way through Newark Avenue during the Pedestrian Plaza’s Annual Halloween Family Bash. The kid-friendly event will feature face painting, music, a bouncy house, and tons of candy. (Tuesday, October 31 at 3pm)

LITM’s Annual Costume Contest Returns
Looking for a good old fashioned costume party? LITM is hosting its annual Halloween Bash & Costume Contest. In addition to the food and drink specials, the person with the best Halloween costume will win a $50 LITM gift card. (Tuesday, October 31 at 5pm)

Kick Back with Some Donuts and Beer at FM
Leave the leftover Halloween candy at home and head to FM where Growing in Jersey City and Glam About Town are hosting a Donuts & Beer Pairing. The event will include 4 beer tastings with 2 donut pairings for each beer (donuts provided by Glazed & Confused). Costumes are encouraged. (Tuesday, October 31 at 7pm)

Enjoy an All-Night Luau with Tiki Drinks

If it’s potent brews you’re after, head to Cellar 335 for Tiki Freaky — an all-night luau complete with tiki drinks, a costume contest, and giveaways. Afterall, what’s Halloween without the perfect brew. (Tuesday, October 31 at 7pm)

Celebrate El Día de los Muertos Oralé Style
This year Halloween just so happens to fall on Taco Tuesday, which can mean only one thing — 50% off tacos at Oralé. Plus, there will be a costume contest and live DJ. (Tuesday, October 31)

Costumes, Beer, and Marilyn Manson
Nothing says Halloween like a little industrial metal. Head to Pet Shop for a live show with local musicians performing cover sets by Marilyn Manson, INXS, and The Damned. (Tuesday, October 31)

Party with the Jersey Devil at White Eagle Hall

Head to White Eagle Hall for the ultimate Halloween party with live performances, various DJ sets, and up to $1,000 in prizes for the top three costumes of the night. (Tuesday, October 31 at 9pm)
