Here’s What You’ll Be Ordering at Newly Opened DoShe Korean BBQ & Bar

Korean BBQ fans have a new spot to try out. DoShe Korean BBQ & Bar is in soft open mode at the former Bell + Grey spot at 8 Erie Street.

The space has been revamped nicely with proper BBQ tables and ventilation. Most tables are on the larger side accommodating four or more diners, so this is definitely a group/family spot.

The menu is very diverse and has something for everyone. Under the barbecue umbrella you’ll find various beef, pork, and chicken platters. There’s a grilled fish menu with everything from eel to salmon; various soups including Budae Jigae (aka “army stew”) with kimchi, sausage, ham, pork, tofu, rice cake, ramen, and cheese; Bi Bim Bap options, and a lunch menu that’s available from 12pm to 3pm Mondays through Fridays.

There are a few veggie/vegetarian options — such as veggie/tofu Bi Bim Bap, soondubu jige, and a veggie stir fry — but you’ll definitely want to check with your waiter about broths and other ingredients used to prep those dishes.

Drinks include beer, sake, soju, flavored soju, plum wine, and traditional red/white wines.

Certain menu items may be limited or unavailable during the soft open and the restaurant is in cash mode only, but if you like being first in line — DoShe is now open to all. You can take a peek at the menu below.

  1. I would not be surprised if this place fills up for the 1st month from all the hype and then crash and burns due to pricing. Living in NYC (herald sq) area for the last 15 years, these prices are ktown prices transplanted to JC. Note to owner: I’d definitely look into the demographics of the area and although JC is hip and what they call up and coming, the prices are not appealing for anyone to become a regular or for a weekly dinner outing for the locals.

  2. We tried this place tonight and unfortunately the food was truly awful. I didn’t enjoy a single thing we ordered. Meat especially was gamey and of low quality. For the price it’s outrageous. Service was mediocre. I have trouble seeing how they’ll stay in business.

  3. Food was horrible and uncooked. They served me raw bacon and chicken swekers . I took a bite and now freaked out about this. Not going back.
