MetroCard on its Way Out
Starting in late 2018, the MTA will begin the lengthy process of replacing its MetroCard with a new tap-to-go payment system that will work through apps like Apple Pay, Android Pay, and Samsung Pay as well as chip-based credit cards. No word on if it’ll be compatible with the Path system (though I wouldn’t hold my breath). —NYT
