To celebrate its 4-year anniversary, Downtown Yogurt is offering free yogurt to all customers from the hours of 6pm through 8pm.

What: Hooked JC Ribbon Cutting Party
When: Friday, January 19 at 4pm
Where: 467 Communipaw Avenue
Jersey City’s funky seafood shack is celebrating its official ribbon cutting with Mayor Fulop this afternoon. Expect the party to continue well after the ribbon cutting, which is scheduled for 4pm. While you’re there, get the lobster roll (pictured above). It’s the best we’ve had in the entire tri-state area.

What: Jersey City Rocks Concert at White Eagle Hall
When: Friday, January 19 from 7:30pm
Where: 337 Newark Avenue
Kick off your weekend at White Eagle Hall’s Jersey City Rocks concert, a show dedicated to the city’s best local bands including the likes of the Black Wail, Debra Devi, and Hey Anna. Doors open at 7:30pm.

What: Carnival of Dreams Gallery Opening at 107 Bowers
When: Saturday, January 20 from 2pm to 8pm
Where: 107 Bowers Street
Johnnie Grinder and Orange Li will exhibit original works of art during their new show, Carnival of Dreams. Grinder is a nomadic artist best known for his pipe structures that symbolically connect memories, dreams, experiences, and knowledge, whereas Li’s art is a hybrid of Asian and Western elements, filled with the philosophical, historical, and psychological ideas.
