In the News: Bell + Gray Permanently Closing, CBGB To Reopen at Newark Airport

**Bell + Gray has announced that it will permanently close its doors effective immediately. The restaurant, which was born from the ashes of Carrino Provisions, has no plans to reopen. Bell + Gray was an excellent addition to the downtown scene. It’s a sad loss for JC. —Instagram

**New York City’s iconic punk bar CBGB — which helped launch the careers of famous bands such as The Ramones and Blondie — is reopening in ::drumroll:: Newark Airport. Although the lower east side bar closed in 2007, it has recently lent its name to a new restaurant called CBGB Lab located inside Newark Airport. The restaurant will serve seared tuna, kobe chili dogs, and broccoli mac ‘n cheese balls. —Grub Street

**Congrats to Razza Pizza Artigianale, which was named one of the top 30 Best Meals of 2015 in the Garden State by NJ.com. While they seem to focus heavily on the butter and the bread, I’m personally a huge fan of their seasonal pizzas. You can’t go wrong with either of their pies. —NJ.com

**Another round of congratulations for Jersey City Mayor Steven Fulop, who recently proposed to his girlfriend, Jaclyn Thompson. Former Gov. Jim McGreevey announced the engagement at the Jersey City Christmas concert at the Loew’s Theatre this past weekend. —NJ.com

**An off-duty Jersey City police officer was charged with aggravated assault after authorities say he threw a beer glass at another customer while inside O’Hara’s Downtown Sports Bar and Grill on Marin Boulevard. The officer has been placed on modified duty while an investigation looks into the allegations. —NJ.com

**Rachid Madour, who in 2013 was arrested and convicted of assaulting his former boss — the owner of Fussy Friends — is opening a pet store called Jersey Tails. The store will be located just two blocks away from Fussy Friends. —WiredJC
