In the News: JC to Offer Transgender Health Coverage, Goya Donates 150 lbs. of Food

**Jersey City Mayor Steven Fulop announced that Jersey City will now cover transgender health care under the city’s health care plans. Coverage will be modeled after San Francisco’s plans and include gender reassignment surgery and some basic cosmetic surgery. Plans will go into effect January 1, 2016. —CBS

**Jersey City-based Goya Foods will donate 150,000 lbs. of food in honor of Pope Francis’ visit to New York this week. The food will go to Catholic Charities’ food pantries and emergency food programs in the archdioceses of New York, Washington, D.C., and Philadelphia. —NJ.com
