**The U.S. Office of Community Oriented Policing Services has given the Jersey City Police Department a $750k federal grant to combat street gangs and heroin distribution. —

**New Jersey City University is holding a free three-part lecture series starring Al Roker, Jesse Eisenberg, and John Leguizamo. The lectures start on Tuesday, October 6th at the Margaret Williams Theatre where Today Show weatherman Al Roker will take the stage to talk about his new book “The Storm of the Century.” Other speakers will hold their talks on November 7 (Jesse Eisenberg) and November 10 (John Leguizamo). —
