Jersey City Weekends: 4th of July Edition

**Celebrate the 4th of July at the second annual Jersey City Freedom and Fireworks Festival to be held Saturday, July 4th at Liberty State Park from 12pm to 10pm. The festival will include carnival rides, live music, and plenty of food from the likes of O’ La La Empanadas, City Diner, Neapolitan Express, and Milk Sugar Love. It’ll wrap up with the Grucci fireworks show, which begins at 9pm. — JCFFF

**Speaking of fireworks, Fireworks by Grucci has created a free app (Android and iOS) that syncs its pre-selected music with the fireworks show. (Should you want to hear the music with your own set of headphones). —

**The Zeppelin Hall & Biergarten has added a variety of rib entrees to its menu. Among the “Rib Rumble” offerings you’ll find Dino bones beef short ribs ($17.95), a half or full rack of St. Louis ribs ($15.95 or $27.95), a barbecue rib boneless burger ($14.95) and the grand daddy of them all — the Tomahawk steak ($55 single/$110 double). The “Rib Rumble” is ongoing through July 12. —

**The owners of Another Man’s Treasure have just launched a Kickstarter campaign asking their customers to help them expand the store as it prepares to move into the new Charles & Co. building. —Kickstarter

**A Newark resident was busted just outside the Holland Tunnel yesterday when Port Authority police found $900 worth of illegal fireworks in his car’s back seat. —

**Finally, extra security will be on hand on both sides of the Hudson amid worries of a possible attack during 4th of July festivities. —NBC
