Komegashi Closing After 27 Years, 3 Journal Square Now Open

**After an amazing 27-year run in downtown Jersey City, Komegashi will permanently close its Montgomery Street restaurant on June 30. Located at 103 Montgomery, the Japanese restaurant first opened in 1990 — before Jersey City’s culinary renaissance — and has remained a downtown staple since.   1. I can’t believe this!! I can’t even count how many times I’ve gone to Komegashi. Back in the day, they were one of the only places you could get ramen, and it came with two pieces of inari. This news saddens me. They will definitely be missed.

    • I know! It came as a shock when I read it. Every meal I’ve had there has been consistently good. They will definitely be missed.
