FullSizeRenderMiso Ramen Jersey City — the forthcoming ramen restaurant located in the former Super Discount storefront on 189 Newark Avenue — has posted what appears to be its entire menu complete with prices and descriptions of each entree. Ramen entrees will range from $12 to $16, whereas smaller plates will range from $5 to $8. In terms of drinks, they will carry Ramune soda along with green and oolong tea. Originally the restaurant was slated to be BYOB, although that hasn’t been made official yet.

The menu includes ox-tail ramen ($18), pork ramen ($13), vegetable ramen ($14), chasu ramen ($13), and seafood ramen ($16). There are also smaller plates like marbled pork buns ($6), scallion pancakes ($5), and teba/chicken wings ($6). Along with the menu, Miso Ramen also posted the following note (text and photo below).

“The uniqueness of Miso Ramen comes from its broth and noodles.

The broth is produced using different materials according to the desired variety of noodles. The broth falls into one of two categories: thick and clear.

The thick broth contains pork bone, chicken bone, and duck bone, produced in a process that takes more than 20 hours, to produce a flavorful blend that best enhances the smoothness of the noodles.

The clear broth consists of pork ribs, chicken breast, chicken bone, duck bone, and fish. After 20 hours of slow, low temperature boiling, with constant removal of excess oils and impurities, using unique methods to produce a fragrant broth with tea-like clearness and lightness.

In order guarantee the freshness of our noodles, we have imported a Japanese, state-of-the-art machine which allows us to produce our noodles on site. No more than 12 hours elapses between the production and serving of our noodles, which allows our noodles, at  the time of service, to still posses a slight wheat fragrance.

These two components, when combined, creates the Miso Ramen specialty, a dish that’s both delicious and  healthy.”

Hopefully this means a soft opening is imminent.
