**Jersey City Mayor Steven Fulop said the city will invest $94 million on improvements to city water and sewer utilities in 2016. “We are investing significantly on both our sewer and water lines citywide, as strengthening infrastructure is a vital part of our continued growth,” said Fulop, as cited by The Hudson Reporter. —Hudson Reporter

**The feud between Jersey City and Hoboken is getting a little more heated. City officials recently adopted a measure barring commercial bikes from being parked at public bike racks for more than two hours. The ordinance is in response to Hoboken’s Hudson Bike Share, which JC officials say have been “monopolizing” public bike racks in Jersey City.—

**About 36,000 Verizon workers went on strike last week and although Verizon claims most of its customers won’t be affected by the strike, the New York Times reports that customers of Verizon’s landline and high-speed Internet and television services may experience delays when reaching customer service reps. —New York Times
