Pet Shop Bar will be Newark Avenue’s next hot bar. The owners of the bar recently posted a help wanted sign — along with a cool bird cage logo — seeking bartenders, servers, bar backs, and line cooks. Located at 193 Newark Avenue (on the corner of Jersey Avenue), the bar’s name and icon are a throwback to the Village Tropical Fish & Pet Supplies store, which used to occupy that storefront.
The bar has been under construction for quite some time and from the looks of it, things appear to be moving forward. It’s worth noting that Pet Shop Bar is looking for line cooks, which means it’ll offer drinks and food when it finally opens.
