It’s opening week for Pet Shop Bar, downtown’s newest cocktail bar and restaurant. Designers and artists who’ve helped decorate the new bar have posted on their respective Instagram accounts that a soft opening is scheduled for Thursday (July 28) and a grand opening is slated for Saturday (July 30). The bar itself hasn’t officially announced a soft opening date, but new photos suggest that an opening should be imminent. As a side note, Pet Shop’s Instagram account mentions a vegetarian kitchen, which could be an interesting option for non meat eaters in downtown.
Pet Shop Bar is located on the corner of Newark and Jersey Avenue. The bar’s name and icon are a throwback to the Village Tropical Fish & Pet Supplies store which used to occupy the space. We’ll update this post when an official announcement is made. —Pet Shop JC
Update: Pet Shop Bar has confirmed it will be open three nights this week (Thursday through Saturday).
