BGT Enterprises is doubling down in the Village neighborhood of Jersey City. Right around the corner from the future site of The Galleon on 318-328 Newark Avenue, the real estate firm is launching The Nora on 377 Fifth Street. While it lacks the bold design of its Newark Avenue counterpart, The Nora is still a pretty interesting project. The slender building consist of two 3-bedroom duplex condominiums (each with one parking space). The first floor will house a shared garage while the lower residence will take up the 2nd and 3rd floors (1,350 sq. ft.) and the upper residence will take up the 4th and 5th floors (1,450 sq. ft.). The lower residence will also get dibs on a 190 sq. ft. rear yard, whereas the upper (larger) condo includes a 200 sq. ft. roof deck.
Personally, I like the exterior of the building and I think it blends in really well with some of the buildings in front of it. However, the buildings flanking The Nora look horribly dated now. The project is expected to wrap up this year.
