Foodies rejoice: Downtown’s biggest food fest is back for its 6th straight year. Newark Avenue will be packed with hundreds of food vendors and trucks to satisfy your hunger. On Sunday, burn those calories off at the Newport Half Marathon or check out the 1st annual JCFD vs. JCPD cook-off at The Beacon.

What: All About Downtown Street Festival
When: Saturday, September 17 from 11am – 6pm
Where: Grove Street Path Plaza
Jersey City’s biggest food fest is back for its 6th consecutive year. To accommodate the hungry crowd of 40k+ attendees, the fair has been extended down to Coles Street this year. Food vendors will include Satis Bistro, Departed Soles, House of Gains, and Pet Shop JC to name a few. There will also be local shops, 15 food trucks, and 4 stages of music. What: Newport Half Marathon
When: Sunday, September 18 at 8.30am (race)
Where: Newport Town Square
The Newport Half Marathon is downtown’s premier race taking runners through parts of downtown Jersey City, the waterfront, and Liberty State Park. A post-race celebration will be held at Newport Town Square with refreshments, music, and prizes. Race-day registration will be allowed on Sunday (starting at 6.30am) for $55.

What: 1st Annual JCFD vs JCPD Cook-Off
When: Sunday, September 18 from 11am – 4pm
Where: The Beacon at 20 Beacon Way
Join Jersey City’s bravest as they battle it out against Jersey City’s finest during downtown’s first ever JCFD vs JCPD Cook-Off contest. Tickets cost $20 for adults (that includes tastings and entertainment) and $10 for children 12 and under. Judges will include the New Jersey Devils’ Ken Daneyko, Christian Keiber (Orange Is the New Black), Joey D’Onofrio (Goodfellas), Ines Rosales and Mike Woods of Fox 5 New York, and The Cake Boss’ Buddy Valastro, who will be filming the event for his show. Proceeds will benefit the JC Firefighters Distress Fund, The Code Green Campaign, and the Police Unity Tour.

What: 6th Borough Market
When: Sunday, September 18 from 11am – 5pm
Where: Harborside Plaza 4 at Columbus Drive & Hudson Street
6th Borough Market is an outdoor market featuring a variety of local crafts and food. Located steps away from the PATH Exchange Place station, the market is free, family-friendly, and open every 1st and 3rd Sunday through October. Making their debut at this Sunday’s market will be Muttley Royale, a new food truck specializing in sub-$10 meals. They’ll offer deep-fried hot dogs, grilled cheese with gruyere and pimento, batter-fried cheese curds, and bread cheese sticks. Also making its debut will be food truck No Pão, which specializes in Portuguese food and sandwiches. This Sunday the market will feature live music throughout the day.

What: Expedition America 2016
When: Saturday, September 17 from 11am – 6pm
Where: Battery Park North Cove Marina at 250 Vesey Street
The world’s largest Viking ship — the Norwegian Draken Harald Hårfagre — will be docking in New York’s Battery Park through September 26 after its recent journey from Norway to the U.S. Viking Leif Eriksson is said to be the first European to reach North America 500 years before Columbus. Ship tours cost $10 for adults and $5 for children.
