Tropical Storm Hermine is looking to wreak a little havoc on the last (unofficial) weekend of summer. But that shouldn’t stop you from having some fun. We’ve gathered a few events and activities worth checking out on this extended Labor Day weekend.

What: Paint & Sip Happens at New Heights Art Supply
When: Friday, September 2 from 7.30m – 9.30pm
Where: 345 Central Avenue (2nd Fl.)
New Heights Art Supply is kicking off September with a painting party in the Heights. “Paint & Sip Happens” will be a recurring event (every first Friday of the month) where they supply the art utensils (canvas, brushes, paint) and you do the painting — while enjoying whatever snacks and wine/beer you decide to bring. The BYOB event is $25 if you purchases online or $35 at the door.

Where: Harborside Plaza 4 at Columbus Drive & Hudson Street
6th Borough Market is an outdoor market featuring a variety of local crafts and food. Located steps away from the PATH Exchange Place station, the market is free, family-friendly, and open every 1st and 3rd Sunday through October.

What: Bharatanatyam in the Park
When: Sunday, September 4 from 11am – 1pm
Where: 257 Montgomery Street
Bharatanatyam in the Park is a free classical dance show celebrating the Hindu, elephant-headed God Ganesha’s birthday. The family-friendly event will also feature
West African drumming and Chinese folk dance.
