When: Friday, February 9 from 9:30pm to 12:30am
Where: Zeppelin Hall at 88 Liberty View Drive
Commemorate The Beatles’ first U.S. appearance on the Ed Sullivan Show with Beatles tribute band Penny Lane. The foursome will play The Beatles’ biggest hits starting at 9:30pm. While you’re there, check out Zeppelin’s Mardi Gras menu, with specials like a Seafood Gumbo and NoLa Crawfish Boil.

What: Jersey City Ballroom Valentine’s Day Dance Classes
When: Friday, February 9, 10, 11, & 14 (hours vary)
Where: Jersey City Ballroom at 189 Brunswick Street (3rd Fl.)
Avoid the Valentine’s Day mobs and celebrate early with the Jersey City Ballroom, which is offering a variety of Valentine’s Day Packages where you can learn to dance rumba and tango in a group setting ($40 per couple). Prefer to treat someone special to a class? You can opt for a private lesson of your choice ($179 per couple).

Frankie is debuting its new brunch menu this Saturday and everyone’s invited. The Australian restaurant and bar will be dishing up French toast, smoothies, milkshakes, and all the natural wine you could dream of for a lazy Saturday afternoon. Brunch starts at 11am.

When: Saturday, February 10 from 12pm to 8pm
Where: Cathedral Hall at 380 Montgomery Street
For an unconventional take on V-Day, head to the Valentines Oddities Market at Cathedral Hall. Forty hand-selected artists will be on hand selling jewelry, taxidermy, soaps, candles, and more.

When: Saturday, February 10 from 12pm to 4pm
Where: Porta at 135 Newark Avenue
Treat yo’ self to Porta’s 2nd Annual Galentine’s Day Brunch. The “gal-themed” brunch includes an afternoon of movies, brunch specials that look like this, and of course, $10 mimosa carafes. Come back later at night and join Porta for their Mardi Gras Party, which starts at 11:30pm.

When: Saturday, February 10 from 2:30pm to 4:30pm
Where: The Brunswick Center at 189 Brunswick Street
Get a jump start on Valentine’s Day with veteran pastry chef and Jersey City resident Jen Benyamine of Jersey City Sweets. Jen will lead a cookie workshop showing bakers how to cookie decorate like a pro. Class is $45 per person and it includes cookies, refreshments, and all the utensils needed to churn out the perfect cookie. BYOB is encouraged.
