Where: Downtown JC, Hoboken, Bayonne
Today is your last day to take advantage of Hudson Restaurant Week’s discounted lunch and dinner prices. Keep in mind that some restaurants — such as Latham House — are extending their Restaurant Week to include Saturday night.

What: Surf City Paella Fest
When: Friday, August 4 – August 20
Where: Surf City at 1 Marin Boulevard
Love Spanish food? Start your weekend at Surf City. The waterfront bar will be serving up 10 delicious paellas during its Paella Fest celebration — from classic seafood to vegetarian. Plus, they’ll also be offering four different sangrias to wash everything down.

What: Bolivian Day Parade & Festival
When: Saturday, August 5 from 12pm to 2pm
Where: from Brunswick Street to City Hall Plaza
Celebrate Bolivia’s Independence Day with a lavish parade that dances its way through downtown Jersey City and ends at City Hall Plaza with a festival complete with food, drinks, and music. [Ed. — This is my personal favorite parade of the year].

What: Magnolia Landing Summer Series
When: Saturday, August 5 from 11am to 4pm
Where: Corner of Magnolia & Summit
The Magnolia Landing Summer Series is back at JSQ for another weekend of outdoor eats and shopping. The outdoor market — which will be held every other Sunday through September 9 — includes 20+ artisan, vintage, and food vendors, live music from local bands, and a special “Neighborhood Row” section, which will spotlight local small businesses. Confirmed vendors for this Saturday include Florious (JC-based floral arrengements), Art by Latinsilver (Bayonne-based artist featuring unique artwork sold as prints, tees, accessories), Yay Sunshine (Australian-based company designing sunglasses for Asian faces/features), O’Lala Empanadas (local Latin fusion food), Yum Shack (pictured; JSQ-based vendor dishing out noodle, salad, and taco-based Vietnamese eats), and more.

What: Riverview Farmers Market Peach Pie Contest
When: Sunday, August 6 from 10:30am
Where: Riverview-Fisk Park at Palisade (Bowers & Griffith)
It’s that time of year! The 6th Annual Perfect Peach Pie Contest is a contest to see who makes the best peach pie in the neighborhood. Entries will be accepted up until 11:30am on Sunday. There will be prizes for the top winners and attendees will get to sample the pies after the awards are announced at noon.

What: 4th Annual Lemonade Stand Fundraiser
When: Sunday, August 6 from 11am to 2pm
Where: Bambino Chef at 213 Newark Avenue
Take a break from the summer heat and head to Bambino Chef’s 4th Annual Lemonade Stand. The stand will be located outside Bambino Chef and all proceeds will be donated to Share Our Strength No Kid Hungry, an organization devoted to feeding children of low income families. Children can still sign up to volunteer at the stand Sunday morning/afternoon.
