The Weekender: Midnight Market at Magnolia Landing, Art Party at Pacific Flea, Taphaus Bark ‘N Brunch

Head to Journal Square’s redesigned Magnolia Landing Plaza for this month’s Midnight Market luau — an international foodie fest spotlighting the tri-state area’s best street food. Plus, grab some zeppoles at La Festa Italiana and get your brunch on at Taphaus Hoboken to help them raise funds for the Liberty Humane Society.

What: Midnight Market at Magnolia Landing: Luau
When: Friday, August 11 from 5pm to 11pm
Where: Corner of Magnolia & Summit
Journal Square is getting a taste of Midnight Market. Head to the newly renovated Magnolia Landing plaza for a foodie luau courtesy of Midnight Market. The rules are the same as always: It’s a $5 cover to enter and once inside all food and drink costs no more than $5. Vendors include The Guac Spot (pictured above), Drunken Fruit, Ono Grinds Poke, Carmine’s Pizza Factory, Two Crepes, The Bearded One BBQ, and plenty more.

What: La Festa Italiana
When: August 11 through August 13
Where: Sixth Street between Monmouth & Brunswick
From rosé popsicle sticks to sugar-coated zeppoles, La Festa Italiana is a block party loaded with tons of eats, music, and drinks. The Village street fair runs from 5pm to 11pm on Friday and from 3pm to 11pm on Saturday and Sunday, the latter being it’s last day.

What: Art Party at Pacific Flea
When: Saturday, August 12 from 11am to 5pm
Where: 149 Pacific Avenue
Located in Bergen Lafayette, Pacific Flea spotlights antique and vintage items, outdoor street art, and local food. This month’s Pacific Flea is focusing on local artists. Confirmed vendors include Antisocial Jewelry Company, Nuda Designs, and The Lucky Honeybee. There will also be food by Muttley Royale among many more.

What: Taphaus Bark ‘N Brunch
When: Saturday, August 12 from 12pm to 4pm
Where: Taphaus Hoboken at 800 Jackson Street
Bring your 4-legged friends to Taphaus Hoboken on Saturday for Bark ‘N Brunch, a special fundraiser for the Liberty Humane Society. There will be mimosas, raffles, giveaways, and treats for the pups. Ten percent of revenue and 100% of raffle donations will benefit the LHS.

When: Saturday, August 12 from 4pm to 8:30pm
Where: Exchange Place
Delicious food, live performances, and New York views are just a few of the things you can expect from the Indian Independence Day Celebration at Exchange Place this weekend. There will also be a host of activities for kids during the family-friendly event.

What: Industrial Arts Brewing at CoolVines
When: Saturday, August 12 from 5pm to 7pm
Where: CoolVines at 276 Grove Street
New York’s Industrial Arts Brewing Company will be at CoolVines for a free beer tasting this evening. In an interview with Imbibe, Brewery owner Jeff O’Neil described his beers as “fresh, clean, hoppy beers, particularly ones at lower alcohol strength and higher quaffability.”
