Don’t let the impending showers dampen your weekend. We’ve rounded up a few indoor (and outdoor) events happening this weekend throughout the downtown area. From a Friday night food truck rally to Jersey City Ties’ Spring Pub Crawl.

What: Food Truck Rally at The Morgan
When: Friday, May 20 from 6pm – 10pm
Where: The Morgan at Provost Square (on corner of Marin and Bay Street)
The Morgan is hosting a Friday night food truck rally on the corner of Marin and Bay Street. Participating food trucks include IncrediBalls Food Truck, Original SoupMan, Ms. Fu’s Yummy Food Truck, and Milk Sugar Love, among others.

What: Free Fitness Class at 8 Springs Studio
When: Saturday, May 21 & Sunday, May 22; classes are at 8.30am, 9.30am, & 10.30am
Where: 300 Coles Street
8 Springs Studio is offering free classes on opening weekend. The boutique gym specializes in megaformer workouts — megaformer machines are a hybrid of pilates and strength training machines that work every angle of your body. (I tried one a few weeks ago and can honestly say it’s a great workout, especially if you’re trying to break free of the weights/cardio machine routine). You can sign up here.

What: Newport Spring Festival & Carousel Opening
When: Saturday, May 21 from 11am – 1pm
Where: Newport Green Park at 14th Street & Washington Blvd.
Newport’s annual Spring festival is back with carnival games, face painters, balloons artists, and more. Plus, the festival will celebrate the re-opening of its carousel. The family-friendly event is free for all to attend. Rain date is scheduled for Sunday, May 22.

What: Jersey City Ties Spring Pub Crawl
When: Saturday, May 21 from 1pm – 6pm
Where: Departed Soles at 150 Bay Street
Jersey City Ties’ Annual Pub Crawl will kick off at Departed Soles this Saturday afternoon. Talde, Lucky 7, Healy’s Tavern, and the recently-opened PJ Ryan’s Squared are also scheduled stops during the crawl. You must RSVP online and you can join the tour at any point during the day. Jersey City Ties is a group of Jersey City professionals looking to unite with other locals through service and social events.

What: Taste of Tribeca
When: Saturday, May 21 from 11.30am – 3pm
Where: Duane Street btwn Greenwich & Hudson
Just steps away from the WTC PATH station, Taste of Tribeca is an outdoor food festival featuring dishes and drinks from Tribeca’s most popular restaurants including Brushstroke, Landmarc, Terroir, and more. Tickets cost $45 per person (purchase online through end of Friday) or $55 (day of event) and include a Tasting Card, which entitles customers to six tasting dishes throughout the festival as well as one beverage. Money raised will benefit arts and enrichment programs at PS150 and PS234, both in Tribeca. The event will take place rain or shine.
