What: Red at Raval Grand Opening
When: Friday, May 5 from 9pm to 3am
Where: Raval (basement) at 136 Newark Avenue
Jersey City’s newest late-night cocktail lounge will open its doors for the first time tonight. Located in Raval’s basement, Red is a cocktail and dance lounge for your late night dancing and drinking pleasure.

What: Newport 10K
When: Saturday, May 6 at 8:30am
Where: Whealth Cafe at Harborside
From the waterfront to Hamilton Park, the Newport 10K is your chance to run through all of downtown’s diverse neighborhoods. Online registration is closed, but you can still sign up in person the morning of the race. You can check out the course map here.

What: Whealth 5K Harborside Run/Walk
When: Saturday, May 6 at 10am
Where: Whealth Cafe at Harborside
Start the weekend with a gorgeous 5K run (or walk) along the Jersey City waterfront, led by avid runners David Trotta of Whealth and trainer/model Jesse Barton. The casual run is open to all fitness levels and is followed by a quick cool down/meditation session and a healthy meal at the Whealth Harborside Cafe.

What: Kentucky Derby at South House
When: Saturday, May 6 at 1pm
Where: South House at 149 Newark Avenue
Don your best Derby attire and head to South House to watch the 143rd Kentucky Derby race. The party will include juleps, champagne cocktails, and other southern fare.

What: Harsimus Cove Stoop Sale
When: Sunday, May 7 from 10am to 4pm
Where: Harsimus Cove
The Harsimus Cove Association is hosting the neighborhood’s first stoop sale. Over 30 residents are confirmed. Originally planned for Saturday, it’s been moved to Sunday. You can find a map of the stoop sales here.

The Riverview Farmers’ Market will kick off its 7th season this Sunday at 10am. The debut will include music, food, yoga, and more.

What: Taste of Home Live Jersey City
When: Sunday, May 7 at 1pm
Where: Hyatt Regency at 2 Exchange Place
Taste of Home Live is a new interactive, culinary show produced by the staff of Taste of Home magazine.  The show teaches food decorating, entertaining, and other culinary tips to make it easy to entertain. Taste of Home is supporting the Community Foodbank of New Jersey and asks that guests bring a non-perishable food item for their food drive. General Admission to the event is $25/pp.
