What: See Spot Rescued Adoption Event
When: Saturday, November 21st from 1pm till 4pm
Where: K9dergarten at 173 Newark Avenue
The team at See Spot Rescued has a wonderful bunch of pups in need of permanent homes. From the playful 1-year old Hound mix named Graydon Carter to the gentle lady Dame Helen Mirren. If you’ve got room in your home (and heart), you can completely change the life of one of these pups. SSR’s adoption event runs from 1pm till 4pm. What: Free Screening of “Ellis”
When: Saturday, November 21st at 8pm
Where: The Landmark Loew’s Theatre
The Landmark Loew’s Theatre in Journal Square will offer a free screening of “Ellis,” starring Robert DeNiro. The film is directed by the Parisian artist known as JR (responsible for multiple epic murals in downtown NYC) and written by Academy Award-winner Eric Roth. The 14-minute film recounts the plight of immigrants who were forced to stay at the Ellis Island Immigration Hospital. The free screening will followed by a viewing of Raging Bull ($8 per person).

What: Segunda Quimbamba Concert
When: Saturday, November 21st from 8pm till 10pm
Where: Folkloric Center at 279 Second Street
Segunda Quimbamba is a Jersey City-based percussion and dance ensemble that performs authentic Bomba and Plena, the drum music of Puerto Rico. This free performance will be held at the Folkloric Center on Second Street. You can find out more about Segunda Quimbamba here.
