The Weekender: Whealth Sunday Brunch, Bucket & Bay Anniversary Party

Don’t have any weekend plans? Fear not, because there will be a variety of events in Jersey City this weekend from the return of the ultra-cool Pacific Flea market in Bergen-Lafayette to the debut of Whealth’s Sunday brunch at Transmission. Plus, save room for Bucket & Bay’s 1-year anniversary party, which will see the debut of the new gelato Cakewich.

What: The Last 5 Years at Art House Productions
When: Friday, July 8 at 8pm (multiple dates)
Where: 136 Magnolia Avenue
Pioneer Productions Company presents Jason Robert Brown’s “The Last 5 Years,” a story that chronicles the turbulent journey of a young couple throughout their 5-year relationship. The first show kicks off on Friday at 8pm with multiple weekend showings throughout the month of July. Tickets are $25 per person.

What: Pacific Flea
When: Saturday, July 9 from 11am – 6pm
Where: 149 Pacific Avenue
After last month’s Riverview Jazzfest, the Pacific Flea and artists’ market is back at its usual location to kick off the month of July. Get ready to shop vintage, antiques, food, and more at this family-friendly outdoor market. Food vendors will include House of Gains, popsicles from Cholita Paletas, and organic gelato from Bucket & Bay.

What: Whealth Sunday Brunch
When: Sunday, July 10; seatings at 12pm & 2pm
Where: Trasmission at 150 Bay Street (corner of Provost)
Join Whealth for its first of many Sunday brunches at Tranmission. Unlike previous Whealth pop-ups, this brunch includes the whole enchilada. In other words, there are no menu choices. You get the whole thing. That includes frittatas, honey banana toast, croissant bread pudding, Mexican street corn salad, and more. Tickets are $45 per person. You can check out the full menu here.

What: Busy Bee Organics Birthday Party
When: Sunday, July 10 at 12pm
Where: Van Vorst Park
Busy Bee Organics is celebrating 2 years of bringing healthy eat to Jersey City. As a thank you, they’re throwing a customer appreciation birthday party complete with music, raffles, giveaways, and of course, food. Other local vendors joining in on the celebration include Squeez’d, Bambino Chef, Jane Do (formerly Sports Barre), and Base Gym.

When: Sunday, July 10 from 2pm – 6pm
Where: Milk Sugar Love at 19 McWilliams Place at Hamilton Park
Milk Sugar Love will be taking over 19 McWilliams Place this Sunday with their MiniCone Madness Party. It’s your chance relax and get an MLS mini cone on the house.

What: Bucket & Bay 1-Year Anniversary
When: Sunday, July 10 from 4pm – 8pm
Where: Bucket & Bay Craft Gelato at 150 Bay Street (off Marin Blvd.)
Bucket & Bay is celebrating its 1-year anniversary with a special birthday party and fundraiser for local non-profit Hudson County CASA, an organization that aids abused and neglected children. The event will feature live music outside the shop, a pop-up empanada stand, and the unveiling of Bucket & Bay’s new Gelato Chocolate-Hazelnut Cakewich. The party is open to all and customers are encouraged to contribute $5 to $10 for each Cakewich in order to support Hudson County CASA. (All proceeds from Cakewich sales will be donated to CASA).
