What: Whealth Harborside Brunch
When: Saturday, August 13 from 11am – 4pm
Where: Harborside Waterfront Esplanade
Waterfront seating, New York City views, and live jazz — that’s just part of what you’ll experience at this weekend’s Whealth pop-up brunch. Music starts at 11am and drinks commence at noon. What: Chilltown Literary Festival
When: Saturday, August 13 from 11am – 9pm
Where: WORD at 123 Newark Avenue, FJB Comics at 17 Coles Street
WORD Jersey City and FJB Comics are hosting a full day of literary events at their respective locations this Saturday. There will be events and programming for kids, comic book fans, music fans, and more — all hosted by local authors. You can get more detailed info here.

What: 8 Springs Studio Luxfit Luau
When: Saturday, August 13 from 12pm – 2pm
Where: Pool deck of Cast Iron Lofts II at 300 Coles
Demo a megaformer machine while enjoying a snack from Total Nutrition Kitchen or a cocktail from Taphaus. 8 Springs Studio’s special poolside demo takes place at Cast Iron Lofts II. As an added bonus, there will also be a Lululemon pop-up shop and prizes awarded throughout the afternoon.

What: 2016 Sawyer Smith Pig Roast
When: Saturday, August 13 from 12pm – 3.30pm
Where: Courtyard at Schroeder Lofts at 234 10th Street
Sawyer Smith is celebrating its annual pig roast this weekend at the Courtyard at Schroeder Lofts. The event is open to anyone (you don’t have to be a Schroeder resident). A $7 donation is encouraged, which will benefit the Hamilton Park Conservancy, a non-profit organization whose goal is to help preserve and maintain Hamilton Park.

What: Indian Independence Day Celebration
When: Saturday, August 13 from 4pm – 8pm
Where: Exchange Place Plaza
Celebrate India’s independence day with colorful dance performances, a variety of Indian cuisine, and various kids’ activities at the Exchange Place Plaza.

What: Jersey City Stickball Tournament
When: Sunday, August 14 from 8am – 8pm
Where: 384-388 Montgomery Street
This year’s stickball tournament has grown into a neighborhood block party complete with a kids’ corner (double dutch, box-ball, hop scotch, hoola hoops, etc.) food concessions, domino tables, music, and more. Last year the tournament was held on Columbus Drive (just off Grove). This year the tournament has moved to Montgomery. You can check out the map of events here.

What: Rooftop Brunch & Dance Party at Porta
When: Sunday, August 14 from 1pm – 10pm
Where: Porta Jersey City at 135 Newark Avenue
Join DJs Neil Armstrong, Unkle Chip, Matthew Law, and Kevlove, among others, at the Porta rooftop this Sunday for an all-day dance party. There will be drink discounts and specialty pizzas throughout the day. Admission is $10 at the door (or $6 if you RSVP online). Brunch runs from 1pm through 4pm and the night party starts at 4pm and ends at 10pm.
