Journal Square is about to get a massive makeover. New renderings of the $400 million high-rise called One Journal Square show a completely gentrified and transformed neighborhood. Construction of the 56-story tower can already be seen from within parts of downtown Jersey City and these latest illustrations show just how different the area — and Jersey City’s skyline — will look in a few years. Earlier in the year, the building’s developers sought feedback from the public regarding the 9/11 Memorial Fountain found at the base of the building, but we’ve yet to get official word of the fountain’s fate. Either way, it’s clear that JSQ is Jersey City’s new frontier for developers. —NJ.com
