“Try This Now” puts the spotlight on a beverage, cocktail, appetizer, dessert, or meal I’ve recently had in downtown Jersey City that has surpassed all my expectations.
Mexican food goes well beyond your typical quesadillas and fajitas. For those times you crave a meatless entree — but still want something substantial — Órale’s enchilada vegetariana hits the spot perfectly. The enchilada is stuffed with numerous veggies including cauliflower, asparagus, and plantains. It’s then sprinkled with pine nuts, crisp leeks, and a pinch of lemon zest. Finally, it’s served with Órale’s spicy and smokey ranchera sauce. It’s a very filling entree, though keep in mind that the veggies used for the filling can vary by season (originally I had it stuffed with kale). Nevertheless, it’s great for meatless Monday or any day of the week and best of all, you won’t feel guilty wiping your plate clean.
