Bacon Fest is Zeppelin Hall’s annual celebration of all things bacon. The biergarten will offer a special bacon menu created by executive chef Franco Robazetti. The menu features 20 new entrees (in addition to previous Bacon Fest favorites) with an emphasis on international bacon dishes like a bacon pad thai and bacon bolognese over pene. Plus, on Friday night 80’s camp band “White Wedding” will perform 80s hits starting at 9pm.

What: Departed Soles Gluten Free Beers Release
When: Friday, January 12 at 4pm
Where: Departed Soles at 150 Bay Street
Departed Soles is releasing two new gluten free brews: For stout lovers, there’s the third iteration of the Rick-Rolled Oat Coffee Stout, which is described as a “5+% ABV craft beer with a hint of roasted grain (minus the gluten), maltiness (of the gluten free variety), and just a touch of bitterness and coffee.” Also making its debut is the Bumper Hops IPA, which has a “beautiful tropical aroma with the taste of orange, lemony citrus coming through, while being minimally bitter.”

Where: 570 Washington Blvd
There’s a new ramen house in town. Fort Lee’s Menya Sandaime just opened its latest outpost steps away from the Newport PATH station. The restaurant makes its noodles in-house and offers a variety of ramen styles including Tonkotsu, Karakuchi, Tsukemen, and Ankake Yaki.

When: Friday through Sunday from 12pm to 9pm (new hours begin next week)
Where: 318 Communipaw Avenue
Bergen-Lafayette’s dining scene continues to grow as dumpling/noodle bar The Pinwheel Garden reopens this weekend after a brief winter hiatus. The restaurant is debuting a new menu that includes items like Scallion Pancake Pizza, Dumpling Salad, and a Veggie “Bolognese.”

When: Saturday, January 13 from 12pm to 4pm
Where: 163 Newark Avenue

What: January Yappy Hour at the Ale House
When: Friday, January 12 from 7pm to 9pm
Where: 1034 Willow Avenue
Bring your pooch to 2018’s first Yappy Hour fundraiser at Hoboken’s Ale House. Pay $5 at the door to get a special wristband that entitles you to drink specials. One hundred percent of wristband proceeds will benefit the Liberty Humane Society. So drink up for a good cause.
