What: Wine & Cheese Tasting
When: Friday, October 23rd from 5pm till 8pm
Where: Madame Claude Wine (234 Pavonia Avenue)
Start your weekend off right — with a glass of wine and some cheese. Madame Claude Wine will have a casual wine and cheese tasting from 5pm till 8pm at its wine shop located next to Hamilton Park.

What: Rocky Horror Picture Show
When: Friday, October 23rd at 7.30pm
Where: Historic Jersey City and Harsimus Cemetery (435 Newark Avenue)
In honor of the film’s 40th anniversary, the Historic Jersey City and Harsimus Cemetery will screen the Rocky Horror Picture Show complete with audience participation. The screening will be led by the Home of Happiness cast. Tickets are $15 per person (proceeds will be donated to a charity). This is the second and final screening to be held in Jersey City.

What: Werewolf-athon
When: Friday, October 23rd at 8pm
Where: Loew’s Theatre
Get an early jump on Halloween with three horror movie classics. The Loew’s Theatre is screening: Werewolf of London, The Wolf Man, and An American Werewolf in London. You can see all three movies for just $18 (adults) or $14 (kids and seniors).

What: Paella Festival
When: Saturday, October 24th from 10am till 6pm
Where: City Hall on Grove Street
Ready to gorge on some paella? In partnership with Paella for the World (a private, non-profit that seeks to share authentic Spanish American culinary traditions), City Hall is hosting the 2nd Paella Festival of New Jersey. The free event is an all-day cook-off, contest, and festival rolled into one.

What: Indian Festival of Lights
When: Saturday, October 24th from 12pm till 6pm
Where: Exchange Place & Grundy Pier
Diwali is a festival of lights symbolizing the victory of righteousness and the lifting of spiritual darkness. Come celebrate this family-friendly festival on the Jersey City waterfront (Exchange Place). The festival will include live performances, vendors, and lots of Indian food.

What: Ghost of Uncle Joe’s Halloween Costume Ball & Fundraiser
When: Saturday, October 24th at 1pm
Where: Historic Jersey City and Harsimus Cemetery (435 Newark Avenue)
The 2015 Ghost of Uncle Joe’s concert is a fundraiser to benefit the  Jersey City and Harsimus Cemetery. (Suggested donation is $10). The event is a non-stop tribute band concert with local musicians covering popular singles from bands like Hall & Oates, Kiss, Madonna, and the Red Hot Chili Peppers, to name a few. Two after parties will be held at LITM (10pm) and Porta (11.30pm).

What: 5th Annual Afternoon of Fright
When: Saturday, October 24th from 2pm till 6pm
Where: Fourth Street btwn Jersey & Coles
Presented by the Fourth Street Block Association, the 5th Annual Afternoon of Fright is a family-friendly neighborhood event that will include kids’ activities, a photo studio, food, drinks, live bands and more.

What: The Con Vivo Music Gala
When: Saturday, October 24th at 7pm
Where: The Barrow Mansion (83 Wayne Street)
This gala/fundraiser is to support Con Vivo Music’s 2016 concert season and to present free world-class chamber music in Jersey City. The fundraiser will include performances by CVM players including founder, Amelia Hollander Ames. There will also be cocktails, light food, and a silent auction. Reserved seating costs $75 per person and general admission costs $40 per person.
