Harborside has been buzzing as of late and the newest member to join the waterfront revival is none other than Whealth.

Whealth recently announced that it’s opening its first downtown cafe/marketplace in the former Markers Express space at Harborside. (Markers Express is situated next to the space that was formerly Markers Restaurant).

Founded by David Trotta in 2014, Whealth’s goal has been to connect Jersey City residents through healthy food and activities. What began as a string of pop-up dinners around town has led to 5K group runs along the waterfront, family-style Sunday brunches, and soon a new health-focused marketplace overlooking the New York skyline.

I’ve participated in a few of the Whealth runs and the overall atmosphere has been encouraging and energetic. The post-workout meals have also been delicious and flavorful — without being overly heavy. (Needless to say, I’m looking forward to the cafe).

The Harborside cafe is one of two new spaces Whealth is opening in Jersey City. The other cafe will be located in the new Journal Squared building.

The Harborside marketplace is expected to open in about a week’s time.
