Pie season is upon us and to celebrate the cooler weather, Bucket & Bay is launching a new concept shop at its Jersey City and Hoboken cafes. Bucket & Bay Pie 66 is a seasonal pop-up that will offer home-made pies by the slice or whole.

Starting Friday, October 18, the Bucket & Bay Gelato shops in Jersey City and Hoboken will shift gears and begin dishing out classic, home-baked pies. If you’re a Bucket & Bay fan (and who isn’t), you already know that Bucket & Bay only uses seasonal, local ingredients in their gelatos. Well, Bucket & Bay is applying that same approach towards it pies. Bucket & Bay Pie 66 will focus on baking classic pies using natural, organic ingredients.

However, gelato fans shouldn’t worry too much. You’ll still be able to get scoops of your favorite gelato flavors along with your pie slices. Bucket & Bay has yet to release a pie menu or prices, but we can expect that shortly.

Bucket & Bay has been serving small-batch gelato since the summer of 2015. Flavors are inspired from owners Jen and Boris Kavlakov’s travels. They run the gamut from Black Label Vanilla (infused with whiskey) to Pisco Sour sherbert. In 2017, the shop’s rose latte gelato was even selected to compete in the 2017 Gelato World Tour Challenge.

In addition to gelato, the Jersey City shop has also offered a menu of savory dishes. The menu has included Spinach and Feta Quiche, Ricotta Toast, and a “Stinky Cheese Man” sandwich. The cafe has also hosted various gelato-making classes and continues to host weekend pop-ups for kids.

With Thanksgiving and Christmas rapidly approaching, it’ll be nice to have a dedicated pie shop in town. Stay tuned for a pie menu with pricing info.
