Monday’s devastating fire in Hoboken’s Chambord Building has forced several businesses to shutter. Located at 38 Jackson Street, the Chambord Building was also home to Jersey City’s Klado House.

Owner Jennifer Prado has now started a GoFundMe page to help her Hamilton Park-based business rebuild after the fire destroyed Klado’s production facility.

“As the fire continues to ravage through the building, it has become evident that we’ll need to rebuild and relocate the KLADO kitchen,” writes Prado on their GoFundMe page. “We poured all our time and resources into getting KLADO off the ground and our business is now at a complete standstill.”

“We stood up our kitchen from scratch, from laying the floors to installing equipment imported from Brazil and creating a dedicated space that allowed us to produce, ship our products around the US and keep our Jersey City store stocked. The revenue raised from this page will help us start the effort to rebuild a production facility, so that we can reopen and come back even stronger.”

To date, the page has reached $1,800 of its $20,000 goal.
