Cavany Foods is now open at 235 Grand in downtown Jersey City. The 1,750 square feet gourmet food market is located on the corner of Grove and Sussex.
“We decided to open at 235 Grand because it is in an area with a lot of pedestrian traffic, close to the PATH and the downtown commercial district and near our existing customer base,” said chef and owner Alejandro Ferrer. “We also like the idea of setting up shop in a brand new building whose residents will essentially be using us like room service. It’s the perfect location for our business to grow.”
Ferrer founded Cavany Foods in 2017. The company quickly became a staple at the Grove Street Farmers Market where Ferrer built a loyal following of customers. With more than 80% of his clientele coming from downtown Jersey City, Ferrer decided 235 Grand was the ideal spot to open his first retail space.
The gourmet market at 235 Grand offers everything from prepared breakfast, lunch, and dinner to coffee and desserts. Pastries are courtesy of New Jersey’s Balthazar Bakery, while all coffee is from Nespresso. Made-to-order dishes are prepared in the kitchen and menu items include entrees like eggplant parm, mango chimmichurri steak, turmeric roasted chicken, and more.
Cavany Foods is open 7 days a week from 6am to 10pm.
