Discount store Five Below is coming to Jersey City. The budget friendly retailer will open at 125 18th Street in the space formerly occupied by Pier 1 Imports in Newport. Their grand opening date has been set for Friday, August 13. They’ll be located next to Best Buy and Target.

Five Below is known for encouraging impulse buys thanks to its aggressively priced items that range from $5 cell phone cases to $5 yoga mats. The chain, which caters to teens and their millennial/gen X parents, also sells tech, toys, beauty, and apparel.
Founded in 2002, the Philadelphia-based retailer has over 1,000 stores in 39 states. This will be the first Five Below in Jersey City. It’s expected to open later this summer.
