Jersey City Pride FestHudson Pride Center is getting a new home in Jersey City. The non-profit announced that it’s teaming up with Jersey City-based Lord, Abbett & Co. to build a new LGBTQ+ community center. The investment management company will contribute $700,000 to ensure Hudson Pride Center can open its new facility in Journal Square.

The community-based organization, which has been serving Hudson County since 1993, had been operating out of Christ Hospital. However, the organization went virtual as a result of the pandemic.

“The new Hudson Pride Center will provide the LGBTQ+ community with a safe haven, where they can receive assistance, support, and services,” said Catherine Tantillo — Lord, Abbett & Co.’s Head of Community Relations. “We hope our commitment will enable this important organization to flourish for years to come, and we look forward to building a long-term relationship.”

Hudson Pride Center is responsible for organizing major events like Jersey City Pride, Hoboken Pride Week, and Lez Fest JC.
