Jersey City now offering 3rd vaccine dose to select individuals

Jersey City COVID vaccineHealth officials in Jersey City will begin administering a third COVID-19 vaccine to immunocompromised individuals beginning today (August 16).

Last Friday, the NJ Dept of Health approved third doses of vaccines for certain individuals. As a result, Jersey City will offer third shots for immunocompromised individuals that have already received their 2nd dose over 28 days ago, officials posted on Jersey City’s Twitter account.

The CDC describes immunocompromised individuals as those with HIV/AIDS; cancer and transplant patients who are taking certain immunosuppressive drugs; and those with inherited diseases that affect the immune system.

Immunocompromised individuals who received the Moderna vaccine can get their third Moderna shot at the Conners Senior Center at 28 Paterson Street, Public School No. 26 at 164 Laidlaw Avenue, or the Bethune Center at 140 Martin Luther King Drive.

Those who who received the Pfizer vaccine can get their third Pfizer shot at Ferris High School at 35 Colgate Street, Lincoln High School at 60 Crescent Avenue, Henry Snyder High School at 239 Bergen Avenue, or Dickinson High School at 2 Palisade Avenue.
