Newport’s dining scene keeps getting hotter and hotter.

This Friday, restauranteurs Andrea and Phil Barraza — the duo behind Taqueria Downtown — will unveil their latest project, Los Cuernos.

At approximately 5,600 square feet, Los Cuernos will be the Barraza’s biggest restaurant to date. Like Taqueria, it’ll specialize in Mexican cuisine. However, the restaurant will offer a more upscale take on Mexican food and drinks with exclusive entrees not available at either Taqueria locations.

The restaurant’s Facebook page has a variety of photos that show off the restaurant’s interior. The bi-level restaurant will have an open layout with a bar area, dining room, and what looks like a private room. Dark wood and splashes of maroon dominate the interior, whereas the restaurant’s walls are adorned with vintage Mexican movie posters.

Los Cuernos is located at 499 Washington Boulevard (next door to Ruth’s Chris). It’ll open this Friday from 11am to 1am. Happy hour is from 4pm to 6pm daily.
