Brooklyn-based Nurish is opening its first Jersey City cafe at 346 Communipaw Avenue this Tuesday (August 16). News of the cafe coming to Jersey City was first spotted by The Foundry Girl back in August of 2021. The vegan friendly will open from 7am till 8pm, according to its latest IG post.

Owner Elijah Bah opened his first Nurish in Brooklyn shortly before the pandemic. The cafe offers clean, healthy food options with an emphasis on affordability. Bah, a native of Guinea, moved to the Bronx at the age of 14 and has worked at health-focused restaurants ever since arriving in the States, according to InsideHook.

Nurish is his first solo endeavor. The cafe features a veggie-forward menu that even omnivores will love. The menu features açaí bowls, avocado toast, poached eggs, BYO grain bowls, and salads. Bah tells InsideHook that meats are a delicacy in West Africa, which not everybody could afford. So he’s added sustainable meat options to the menu at Nurish.
