Friday Events

What: Halloween Night with Grit Sports Training
When: Friday, October 30 from 6pm to 9pm
Where: Morris Square Park
Grit Sports Training is hosting an outdoor Halloween party at Morris Square Park (located at the end of Grove street toward Liberty Harbor). The event will include games, a costume contest, outdoor movie, face painting for kids, and more.

What: Modcup Dark Roast Release
When: Friday & Saturday
Where: 479 Palisade Avenue
Modcup is releasing its first ever dark roast coffee. The Halloween special gets you 1 lb. of coffee for $15. You’ll get one 4-ounce bag of darkly roasted Brazil, one 4-ounce bag of darkly roasted Ethiopian, one 4-ounce bag of lightly roasted Brazil, and one 4-ounce bag of lightly roasted Ethiopian. On Saturday, Modcup will offer its Ghoulish Dark Roast coffee putting its roasting philosophy to the test and asking anyone who comes into the shop if they are able to taste to Origin of the coffee (Being either Brazil or Ethiopain). Both locations will have either Brazil or Ethiopian on drip.

Saturday Events

What: Spooky Cookie Decorating at Bambino Chef
When: Saturday, October 31 from 10am to 11am
Where: 213 Newark Avenue
Bambino Chef is hosting a Halloween cookie decorating class. There are only 6 spots available and all children must wear masks. The cost is $30 per child and costumes are optional. Treat bags and cookie decorators are included in the price.

What: Franklin Social Halloween Party
When: Saturday, October 31 from 12pm to 3pm
Where: 292 Barrow
Franklin Social is hosting a family-friendly afternoon of pumpkin decorating. The event runs from 12pm till 3pm. A $5 fee will include all pumpkin and decorating materials for kids.

What: 902 Brewing Halloween Party
When: Saturday, October 31 from 12pm
Where: 101 Pacific Avenue
Enjoy a free, all-day Halloween party at 902 Brewing. There will be a costume contest at 8pm along with food trucks from 6pm till 9:30pm.

What: Pumpkin Fest at Whealth Kitchen
When: Saturday, October 31 from 12pm to 2pm
Where: 615 Pavonia Avenue
Celebrate all things pumpkin and Halloween at the Whealth Kitchen Pumpkin Fest. The afternoon includes a cooking class, pumpkin decorating, raffles, and more.

What: Beetlejuice + The Uninvited at Loew’s Theater
When: Saturday, October 31 at 6pm
Where: 54 Journal Square
The Loew’s Theater will screen the 1988 classic Beetlejuice at 6pm. Tickets are $8 for adults and $6 for kids/seniors. The screening will be followed by a showing of The Uninvited at 8:20pm.

What: Halloween at Corgi Spirits
When: Saturday, October 31 from 7pm to 10pm
Where: 1 Distillery Drive
Looking for a chill, outdoor Halloween party that’s both kid and pet friendly? The Corgi Spirits Halloween Party hits all of those requirements and then some. The distillery will be playing Halloween movies on the projector, pumping out tunes, and offering specials on their delicious cocktails. A costume contest winner will be announced at 9:30pm. There will also be patio games and heaters.

What: Zeppelin Hall Halloween Costume Party
When: Saturday, October 31 from 9pm
Where: 88 Liberty View Drive
Zeppelin Hall’s annual costume contest is back — socially distanced, of course. The Halloween Party will take place indoors and outdoors and the best costume of the night will win $1,000.

What: Outdoor Fitness Class with Four Fitness
When: Sunday, November 1 at 10am
Where: 686 Bergen Avenue
Burn those weekend calories off with a free fitness class hosted by Four Fitness owner Marcisco Morrison. The outdoor class is designed to work your entire body using your own body weight. Masks will be required and you’ll have to bring your own mat.

Dominican restaurant Alex Sazon is hosting an indoor dance class with Zachary Bordonaro. The class will focus on learning the foxtrot.

The Journal Square Community Association is hosting a neighborhood cleanup. Meet your neighbors, enjoy the fall weather, and help keep Ward C’s streets clean.

What: Día de Los Muertos Parade
When: Sunday, November 1 from 12pm
Where: Riverview Park
The Riverview Farmer’s Market and local artist Santiago Cohen are teaming up for 2020’s Day of the Dead celebration and puppet parade. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, organizers will provide kits for members of the public to make puppets, head masks, and banners at home. (Fill out this Google form to get your own kit). On Sunday, the modified procession will march from Bowers to Griffith via Palisades Ave and then towards Ogden Ave, where the procession will finish at the Gazebo.

    That’s our apt on the lead photo.
    We will have individual wrapped candy bundles on a socially distanced tackle from 2pm – 8pm a d can’t wait to see our neighbor!

  2. We are currently packing up individually packed Halloween treats that we will put out on a socially distanced set of tables. Pleas come by 2-8pm!
