Tribos Peri Peri is officially open in Jersey City. The Portuguese-inspired restaurant soft opened on September 22. It’s located at 109 Columbus Drive in ME Casa’s former storefront.

Originally from Saddle Brook, New Jersey, Tribos Peri Peri specializes in food made with African bird’s eye chili. Dishes offered at Tribos draw inspiration from Portugal, Mozambique, and Southern Asia.

The Jersey City menu offers a mix of salads and rice bowls; burgers, pitas, and wraps; platters; and lamb entrees. The menu also has a “small plates” section with items like mac ‘n cheese bites and a few sides like yucca fires. Most items cost under $26 with a lot of sub-$10 items on the menu. A few of the larger platters range from $29 to $99. (These platters are meant to feed multiple people).

Tribos also offers a handful of veggie only dishes. Their veggie options include a Beyond burger, veggie pita, and paneer wrap.

Tribos Peri Peri Jersey City will celebrate its grand opening this Friday at 3:30pm. You can follow them on Instagram for updates on all the specials and deals they’ll offer on their grand opening weekend.
